Technique vs style?

It’s easy to get confused between vocal technique and vocal style.
Technique is not influenced by any genre, but having a strong technique foundation will give you the ability to sing in any style.
Style is style and will not enable you to sing with technique. Your sound will be apt for that particular style, but it won’t be appropriate for other genres.
